Good morning Jaiden, I wanted to let you know that Pastor Tom said a beautiful prayer for you at church this morning. There are so many people that you have never met that pray for you every day - isn't that incredible?!! On your blog people keep talking about what a beautiful girl you are, and it reminded me of the play you, Nick & all your friends in Miss Egan's first grade class did about the sun & flowers. Do you remember that? You were all so adorable!! I cannot wait to see that smile again!!! Remember that God is with you, your mom & dad and all of your family that anxiously awaits your return home. Stay strong, sweet Jaiden.
Love, Shannon Gutterson (Nick's mom)

Dear Jaiden, It's Betsey Kallfelz and Isabella. I met you at your neighborhood 4th of July party...our family is friends with some of the families in your neighborhood! Isabella sees you when she's over the Griggs house. Her and Addie cheer in the front yard ALL THE TIME!! Well honey my whole family wants you to know we're CHEERING for you to get better and to stay strong. I see from the pictures posted that you love sports and I've heard that you're a really good soccer player. That means your body is strong and that is so good because you need that strong body to help you get better!! I've told all my family about you and they are all praying. That's a lot of people because I'm from a huge family. Stay strong Jaiden and please remember that the whole community of Milford is with you praying, cheering and anxious to hear about all the wonderful things you're accomplishing and will continue to accomplish.

Jaiden ~ I just wanted to let you know that we brought you a Unicorn Webkin yesterday and Aspen is taking good care of it for you until you get better. She is a good sister. She thought you would like to name it Courtney. What do you think? Geena said your favorite name is Hailey and said that Courtney is Aspen's favorite name (funny huh). Well, you can decide when you get home. You are so beautiful, and so strong, I witnessed how strong you are yesterday. There is so much fight in you, and you have to keep fighting because your mom needs you so much. Dad, Alexeigh, Aspen and Gage need you too. Lots of people are rooting for you to get well. We want to see you get out of that bed and walk out the door. I know you can and will do it - even if it takes you a while. Time is on your side - you are so young and full of life. Keep up the good work and I'll see you soon!! Stay strong Mom.

Jaiden, Holleigh, Paul, Alexeigh, Aspen and Gage,

I hope and pray that each day your getting stronger and stronger so you can home and continue to regain strength and heal.

Last week a friend of mine was going to a revival convention out in Missouri and I told her of your story and asked her to light a candle while she was there for you (as well as the entire convention).

It's actually pretty amazing Jaiden, how a community can come together, you have such a HUGE social network and community that's pulling for you and sending their well wishes from all over. Hang in there Jaiden!

Jaiden it was so nice to see you today. I enjoyed holding your hand and having you look at me. You have the most beautiful eyes. You have the most amazing family. You keep on resting.

Holleigh and Paul, thanks for sharing your beautiful daughter with me today. I am glad I was able to stay with her while you went to church. She slept so peacefully. She woke up when her grandpa turned on the lights. I think she was thinking "why did you turn those lights on" Make sure you both get lots of rest also. I will continue to pray for all of you until Jaiden comes home.

Sweet Jaiden,

I'm getting ready to go to bed but I am thinking of you. The girls and I had a lot of fun talking about silly things you do.

It was so good to be with you today at the hospital. I enjoyed meeting your two Aunt Laura's and seeing the rest of your family today too.

While you were resting, we took Aspen for a walk and guess what we did? You know how goofy Kenny is right? Kenny was starting trouble, (like he always does) and so Aspen took a snowball and when he wasn't looking, we threw it down the back of his shirt. Aspen laughed so hard it made all of us laugh even harder.

I miss you and we wish that we were there with you tonight. Sweet dreams baby girl. Rest well tonight, tomorrow is another day. Please stay strong! We need you to keep fighting from the inside out. We are waiting for you baby, we know you can do it!

Good night baby girl. We will write more tomorrow.

Dear Jaiden,

our prayers continue for you every day. I saw a picture of you playing soccer. Maybe when you're feeling better you can show my daughter, Taylor, some cool soccer moves. She's a couple of years younger than you and is just starting to learn how to play. Until then, get lots of rest so that your body can heal. And don't forget that God is right there with you all the time.

Tlapa Family,

My daughter and I were listening to her CD from the movie "Cars". There is one song on there that I can't get out of my mind and I thought of you all when it was playing. It's called "Behind the Clouds" by Brad Paisley. The chorus goes like this:

Behind the clouds
The sun is shinin'
Believe me even though
You can't quite make it out
You may not see the silver linin'
But there's a big blue sky waitin'
Right behind the clouds

Hold strong to your faith and never let go of your hope. God is right there with you too and He'll help you see the big blue sky behind the clouds.

With lots of Love and Prayers,

To Jaiden's Mom aand Dad,
I just have been praying day and night for your lovely family. I want you to know just what you have accomplished if by chance you might not be aware.
Your prayers have brought millions of people together, ones that didn't even think they could pray to that gracious Lord above. People that haven't talked to each other for one reason or another are talking now. All those people who find themselves saying "I'm too busy" have taken time to spread the word.
You know that telephone game that we play with children....the one that starts out with one simple word or sentence and we ask the last person in line to repeat what they have heard, well, everyone has heard the word correctly. All of those millions of people have been talking and they have spread the word. The word that was said was pray, and that is just what those millions of people have been doing day in and day out. We are all doing the praying day in and day out.
Now you might have heard this from many of your friends and relatives but I want to say it myself. The Lord has been getting prayers from those millions of people from far and wide. He teaches us to trust him. He watches over us every minute of the day and night and he is doing that for your little baby Jaiden. I feel you have trusted us to pray to the Lord on Jaiden's behalf and we are doing that. The Lord IS watching over Jaiden.
It is my belief that you need to do what you can while he is overseeing her care. I know you are praying and doing all you can to reach out to the Lord, but you need to eat and sleep! Have trust and let Him do His job....He is really very good at it as you do know! So set up schedules for yourself, eat at the same times each day, sleep at the same times each day. Post those times and activities on the wall above Jaiden's bed, so all the doc's know where they can come to find you. And make it clear you want them to do that if that is your desire. They might need the posting above Jaidens bed but believe me the Lord does not!
So make the poster then,
Go eat and go sleep, trust in the Lord.

Lovingly,
Nancy

Jaiden - Today I went snowboarding on a beautiful winter day and I was filled with love and hope for you. I understand that it's important for you to cough very soon. So as I am sitting here at 2am on the first day of the New Year praying for you a song comes on by Anna Nalick called "Breathe
(2am)". Do you know this song? It's very pretty...and interesting that it would be playing right now. Be well little girl. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family now and forever.

I thought we were only go to stay for about a half hour, but we ended up staying for about three hours.(hope we didnt over stay our visit) Seeing you lying there, looking like a little angel brought tears to both Gail and I. Talking to your mom and dad for really the first time for a long a period of time was just amazing. There was so much love in that room only god could know. We hope to see you soon. Jaiden - Cutting of the Vasilopita (bread for St. Basil) is the most popular New Year's custom in Greek Culture. The Vasilopita commemorates a miracle performed by St. Basil while serving as a bishop. In this day and age, a single coin is baked inside each loaf to honor this miracle, and the recipient has good luck for the coming year. Tradition is that pieces are cut in a specific order with the first piece always for Christ. Our Yiayia (grandmother) baked us breads this year and when Adelle cut a piece in your honor tonight, the coin was in your piece - Amazing! We will send it to you as soon as possible. We hope you are doing well tonight. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

The fundraising meeting was wonderful. So many, many people gathering together to brainstorm. The event is going to be a great success and we hope a help to your family.

I hope that all of you are sleeping tonight. It was painfully cold today and Mary wanted me to tell Jaiden that they didn't even get to go outside for recess. On our way home from the fundraising meeting the girls kept making me push the outside temperature button so they could gasp at the temperature reading 1 and then 0 once we were almost to NQR.

Holleigh, I was very touched after reading the article in the Milford Observer. Just when I think that your strength has touched me so, something else happens that reminds me how much stronger you are then anyone realizes. Thank you so much for sharing your words and the prayer in the article. You're words helped to soften some of the pain in our broken hearts, if only for a moment.

We love you and miss you so much and our prayers are ongoing every moment of the day and night.

Hi Jaiden,

It was great to see you the other day, you looked so beautiful there with your Mom. Remember I told you that Bailey's Papa has a whole collection of stories he likes to tell children especially about the Attack Owls. Well, he is busy revising a couple for you so he'll be ready to tell them to you when you get home.

Holleigh and Paul, You looked so strong, although a bit tired. Try to get some rest and take care of yourselves and each other. Remember what I said about God never giving you anything more than you can handle especially with His help. The road ahead may be long and bumpy but be patient and strong. Good things await.

Good Afternoon Jaiden,
I am sitting here making ribbons for you. I will say a prayer for you with each one I make. I do trust God and he will send a miracle for you. Just like Ellen Daly said "God Never gives us more than we can handle",and I live by that saying. We just need to trust in him. Sweetie pie you have so much to come back to and I am impressed by your responce so far. I know it will take a long time, I am willing to wait. Heck, I am looking forward to meeting you as I have't meet you in person yet, but I will after you have some rest from all that happened. Many people are praying for you. The Lord won't let you down.
Hugs and More Hugs to you. Nancy

My thoughts and prayers are with Jaiden and her family. While we can't always understand the reasons behind such hardships, know that God is still in control and will work all things to good for those that place their faith and trust in Him. You may not understand how or when His good works will be completed through this trajedy today, but at some point of His choosing, God will spin you around and show you how He was carrying Jaiden and her family in his loving arms through this trial.

God Bless.

A Prayer for Jaiden

I dreamt that it was morning
and all the sky was blue
I dreamt that it was Spring outside
and all of it for you

Please dream of all the flowers
you will one day see
And the grass between your toes
when your body can run free

But rest tonight you dear sweet girl
and let your body mend
Hear in your heart the prayers and love
that all who know you send

And peace unto your family
their love for you so clear
I hope more than anything
that your Spring soon is here

~with love and prayers from our family to yours~

Jaiden, you are a beautiful little girl and a strong girl with a very strong family and a circle of friends. Many you do not know and never will but we are everywhere. I heard about you from my cousin Samantha who lives in South Carolina, but her hometown is Milford, NH.
Her family extends to my family and we are all praying for you and your parents and siblings.
As a parent I know how it feels to have a very ill child and not know what will happen. My 6 year old daughter Maryanne got leukemia and was diagnosed a week before Christmas. She was in the hospital for a month. She was on chemotherapy every day for over 2 years. It's not fun to spend Christmas in the hospital. I know.......But it has now been 6 years that she has been in remission and you would never know that anything was ever wrong with her. She's 12 now. She went to the Tufts New England Medical Center's Floating Hospital For Children, right near you in Boston.

I am hearing about you all the way in Peru, Indiana, but I used to live in Massachusetts.
Keep the faith, stay strong, God is very powerful and he is hearing and answering all the prayers for you and your family. You are showing some wonderful signs by opening your eyes.

God doesn't make mistakes.....EVER! I look back now and I am grateful for my daughter's cancer, that may sound strange but we all met such wonderful people we would have never known if cancer didn't touch our life. Strangers from all over the world that cared and prayed, sent cards and gifts and helped financially. Sometimes God has a plan to bring people together through a tragedy and this gets people doing what they should be doing anyway and that is having love and compassion for each other.

Her illness also brought my mother and I together and we established a very close relationship and a special friendship 6 years ago. I am forever grateful for that because my mother went to be with the Lord in October. So through God's work I was able to have that short but precious time with her. I have faith in you Jaiden, you look like a tough nut to crack.
May God Bless you and your family and all your "global extended family"

Continued Love and Prayers,

Dear Jaiden ~ I hope you are doing well and your infections clearing. I'm sitting here looking at my Christmas Tree - it's still up and still decorated. Sometimes we keep it up until February and it becomes a Valentine's Tree! I just love looking at it...it makes me happy. I also liked looking at the pictures of your face painted. The flowers look so pretty on you. It reminds me of when Devany, Dina & Adelle had their faces painted when we visited Disney World. Have you ever been? It really is one of the happiest places. I hope you are remembering happy times, people and places. I'm sure just listening to your Mom, Dad, Sisters and Brother is making you happy. Keep fighting little girl. Near shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God's free light,Watered and fed by morning dew, Shedding it's sweetness. day and night.

As it grew and blossomed fair and tall, slowly rising to loftier height,it came to a crevice in the wall, through which there shone a beam of light.

Onward it crept with added strength, with never a thought of fear or pride; it followewd the light through the crevice-length and unfolded itself on the other side.

The light , the dew, the broadening view, Were found the same as they were before ; And it lost itself in beauties new, Breathing it's fragance more and more.

Shall claim of death cause us to grieve And make our courage faint or fall? Nay, let us faith and hope receive; the rose still grows beyond the wall,

Scattering fragance far and wide, just as it did in days of yore,
Just as it did on the other side.
Just as it will forever more.

Little Angels
(author unknown)

When God calls little children
To dwell with Him above,
We mortals sometimes question
The wisdom of His love.
For no heartache compares with
The death of one small child
Who does so much to make our world
Seem wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of calling
The aged to His fold,
So He picks a rosebud
Before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them,
And so he takes but few
To make the land of heaven
More beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult
Still somehow we must try
The saddest word mankind knows
Will always be "Goodbye."
So when a little child departs,
We who are left behind
Must realize God loves children,
Angels are hard to find.

He Only Took My Hand
(author unknown)

Last night while I was trying to sleep,
My daughter's voice I did hear
I opened my eyes and looked around,
But she did not appear.
She said:"Mom you've got to listen,
You've got to understand
God didn't take me from you, mom
He only took my hand.
When I called out in pain that night,
The instant that I died,
He reached down and took my hand,
And pulled me to His side.
He pulled me up and saved me
From the misery and pain.
My body was hurt so badly inside,
I could never be the same.
My search is really over now,
I've found happiness within,
All the answers to my empty dreams
And all that might have been.
I love you all and miss you so,
And I'll always be nearby.
My body's gone forever,
But my spirit will never die!
And so, you must all go on now,
Live one day at a time.
Just understand-
God did not take me from you,
He only took my hand.

Dear Tlapa family,

I was saddened to hear of Jaiden's passing today from Applewood Learning Center. I was Jaidens' first teacher when she was six weeks old. She had a smile that would melt my heart. As she grew she loved to dance. My favorite memory was how Jaiden loved Pedialyte. And would drink singles like juice boxes. I have thought of her often the last three years when I have had to give my children Pedialyte.

May God's strengh sustain and protect you during these difficult days. You are in my prayers.

You are the light that shines above us.
You are the angel who glistens in the night.
You are the beauty that lies beneath us.
You are the memories that make us feel right.

We cry
We laugh
We love
And you watch us from above.

It's hard to realize you're gone.
And everything feels so wrong.
But the things you left for us will always belong.

NOT a day goes by that I don't think of you. I wish there was something I could say or do.....but I guess only time will help heal.

I think about Jaiden and her family every day.

I know that you have passed from this world Jaiden. I am praying for your family though. My Mom lost one of her children too and so I know your family's pain. I cannot say anything right now to makee it better but if you ever need someone to talk to I am a person who will listen to any family member who wants to talk. You have all been so heavy on my heart since the accident. Know that you are loved by people you don't even know. I am a neighbor here in Milford. My prayers for your family healing go up to God everyday, Susan Burgess
