Happy New Year

It's 8:45pm, the clock is ticking and before we know it the ball will be dropping. As we watch the final count down 10, 9, 8........I know that Jaiden and her family will be on all of our minds.

I am posting this here so we can take a moment and wish Jaiden and the Tlapa's a Happy New Year.

Happy New Year Holleigh, Paul, Alexeigh, Jaiden, Aspen and Gage. I would also like to extend this wish to all of you that have posted to the blog, read the blog and all of those that keep the family in their thoughts and prayers thoughout the day. To all of those that have stood by the family and held their hands, were their shoulder to cry on, to those that were their messengers and brought home all the news of Jaiden. Thank you all for your big, kind hearts.

Happy New Year!

Hey Jaiden,

Olivia has her pots and pans ready. She is already starting to make noise to ring in the new year.

Once Matthew and Evan get their pans ready you might be able to hear them all the way down in Boston.

Goodnight sweetie, and Happy New Year.

To the Tlapa Family, most importantly Jaiden,

The countdown to the new year is over. We all continue on with our careers and day to day activities. The past days and weeks begin to fade. But, our thought of you, your story and the true miracle that has happened I pray will never fade from our hearts and thoughts. Many lives have changed, for the better, because of your story and ordeal. Hope and prayer have been renewed for many of us. You are always in our minds. You have brought a community and in many instances a world together for a common goal. May your example and the result of this accident remain a lasting reminder to all of us that life is the most important thing. Jaiden, a new years wish for your continued recovery and a new count down to the moment you walk out of that hospital. As others have said, God obviously has other plans for you. May you rest well. We look forward to seing you home soon.

Happy New Year Tlapa Family.

There are as many constant thoughts and prayers for you as there were pieces of confetti that fell in Times Square last night. You are our confetti! Not a second goes by that someone isn't thinking about all of you.

We drove through your neighborhood yesterday to get some decals and it was a wonderful site to see all your neighbors with red ribbons on their mailboxes. Jaiden, you have touched the hearts of many like a little angel.

We hope 2008 brings great progress and healing for you and we are waiting to celebrate the day you come home.

Hi Jaiden,
Today begins a new year full of hope! Our biggest hope for this year is for you to get better. For this week, our greatest hope is for you to cough or gag so you can take your next step in getting better. We were with the Urda's, Pitsas', Worrall's, Spaldings, Sareault's, Lamarre's, Daudier's and others last night and everyone was sending out their New Year Hopes and Prayers to you. Everyone is praying for God to help you cough or gag this week. Later today there is going to be a prayer service for you at the Methodist Church. Even people who cannot be there are going to stop and pray for you at 4pm. We will all be praying for you to get better and for you to cough or gag this week for your next step. With all those prayers going out to you we feel sure you will have the strength to take the next step. Jen, Sarah and Jack are going to make cookies to share after the prayer service. Jen wants to frost some blue because she said you like blue. We all know in our hearts that you are going to continue to improve. Take Care Sweetie.

Hi Jaiden,

With the new year comes a renewed strength and I am sure you will feel that strength to help you heal completely. Yesterday I was skiing with my family when I saw a girl that looked so much like you that it stopped me in my tracks. Again, I took it as a sign that next year that could be you skiing and enjoying the snow. Know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers. Sam has even volunteered to give you some pointers if you want to try snowboarding when you are better. We will continue to send you all our love and support until you are healed and home.

Hi Jaiden,
It's me Jen. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Are you ready for recess talk today? OK, today Mary, Maddy, Geena and Heather are walking with us around the structure.
Were you awake when the ball dropped? I was ... barely! This year they got a brand new ball that was twice as bright as the old one. When it was about 20 seconds until 2008 we all started counting down the seconds. At ten seconds to go we got EVEN LOUDER! When the ball dropped we screamed HAPPY NEW YEAR! I think Devany screamed "HAPPY NEW YEAR PEOPLES!" It's fun to say that! We actually went two places last night. At the first place Zoe was there. We watched HSM 2 and we had cake and cookies and cream milk shakes. We also danced a lot at the end. We danced in the dark with a disco ball going. I think you would have liked that. At the second place we went we played outside for a while ... until we got too cold, then we played inside. Devany was at the second place. They had a big bonfire there but I did not really go around that. We tried to send a message to you right at midnight on my Dad's phone but it would not let us post the message so we did it when we got home instead. Today including my message there are 701 comments for you so far! We are going to make cookies to bring to your prayer vigil today. I am going to go say a prayer for you now. Please try to cough today!
That's all for now. Bye!
Love,
Jen

Happy New Year Jaiden and the Tlapas family - We are thinking of you all, praying for your full and speedy recovery! We love looking at your beautiful photographs on this website and seeing your smiling face doing all the fun things that girls are supposed to do. We can't wait to hear stories of you doing them all again. In the meantime, we will continue to pray for you and for your family for strength and for recovery. We wish we could be with everyone today at the prayer service and to be of assistance, even though we met you only one tiny time a few years ago. In lieu of our physical presence, we will continue to share your story with our friends, prayer groups, prayer chains and the like, and of course keep you in our prayers. It is the most we can do. We will not forget you and your shining face. Keep up the good work. We will continue to check on you via the blog and your aunt and uncle. Love, The Upchurch Family in NC

Happy New Year Jaiden!

I hope the new year rings in with good news and good health. I will be at the vigil this afternoon to pray for you.

Did you hear Matthew with his trombone? He was so loud we were sure it was heard all the way in Boston.

Take care sweetie, I hope to see you soon.

Tlapas,
May the New Year bring you the joy and wonderment of your daughter's complete and speedy recovery. We are thinking of you in Bonanza, Oregon, and hoping you are all taking good care of yourselves, so Jaiden can focus on healing herself. We read the blog every day and are fascinated by how many people have heard about your story. The power of friendship and family knows no bounds, and the more the better when it comes to supporting a friend or family member in need. So keep up the good work, and kudos to those who tell those who tell those who pray for Jaiden and her family in her time of need. We are rooting for you and wish there was more we could do.
Peace

Hello Jaiden!

I logged onto your blogspot at exactly 4pm your time. I am smiling because I know that so many people are praying for you right now. The new year brings you new hope. I know that coughing must seem like a tremedous task right now, but in a few months it will seem easy compared to competing in a softball game. Keep working to get stronger and keep opening your heart to all of the love surrounding you and praying for your recovery.

Happy New Year to you Holleigh, Paul, Alexeigh, Jaiden, Aspen and Gage! Our prayers continue for you everyday! You will continue to gain strength from this and grow as individuals and a family. Remember always that if God brings you to it, he WILL bring you through it.
Love and God Bless,

Holleigh, Paul and Family,

After reading all the nice postings and sharing in everyone's concern and prayers for the well being of Jaiden and your family I am comforted by the sense of community.

Having grown up in Milford with Holleigh I am sure she wanted to raise her family in a caring loving community that she knew as a child. I was looking for the same thing. We have not grown so large that we as individuals have lost our sense of community.

It is heart warming to see such an outpouring of prayer and love for your family. I hope that it is comforting for you to know that you are so loved by so many.

I hope that 2008 will bring you continued strength and that Jaiden will continue to heal. Jaiden you have touched so many near and far we send you all our love and prayer.

Love,
Dan, Elise, Zoe, Aidan, and Morgan

I have been in the deat you are in..only in Maine Med..reading comments posted by my own family and friends for my neice and our family. I kind of know what you are feeling. Looking for the corner that might be turned to bring you closer to home and being with jaiden and talking with her soon. Holleigh, Paul, and family, I wish I had the words to express what I feel for little Jaiden, and your whole family right now. Today, when I read the paper, I realized that it was you, Holleigh. I first heard your married name while you were coordinating our 20th high school reunion. I didn't make the connection until today. Please know that you are all in my prayers. I want you to know that I have seen first hand the power of prayer, and how it can heal people from physical ailments, and trauma. I am so glad to see how strong your faith is. It is reflected in everything that you have written on this blog. We do serve a big, and powerful God. He is bigger than Jaiden's accident, and He knows exactly what she needs in order to heal. I pray a blessing of strength and peace over your entire family, including Jaiden. Because of Him, Christine
